Human Prisoners Kidnapped and Escape from Turemok Interrogation Room
Gate CrashersHuman kidnapping and the breakout from the Turemok interrogation room is a decisive reversal in the human–Turemok conflict. After the human vessels are captured, Allison Ridgeway, Thomas Harris, Felix Fletcher, Jacqueline Dorsett, Maximus Tiberius, and their companions are stripped of their weapons, fitted with restraint belts, and marched into a cruiser as prisoners. The interrogation then turns the language of justice into an instrument of pain: Vel Noric demands confessions for the events at Culpus-Alam, Okim, and Kulla, while his control device can drop the prisoners to the floor in agony. The humans survive not by submitting to the examination, but by converting an apparently harmless tool into a weapon and using the captors’ confidence against them.
Capture and the Prisoners’ Situation
Both human shuttles are captured without resistance because they have no meaningful means of resistance left. Guards are waiting in the hangar, and the prisoners’ weapons and equipment are confiscated before the group is led through the cruiser’s broad corridors. The restraint belts make their status explicit: they are no longer explorers or combatants operating on their own terms, but immobilized bodies under Turemok control.
PFC Conway is separated from the others and taken to Bucephalus for medical treatment by a boarding craft full of Turemok soldiers. The boarding craft later returns with Captain Tiberius as an additional captive, reuniting the central human leadership under guard but also placing Maximus inside the same interrogation chamber as the rest of the group. Felix remains linked to Thomas Harris through his implant, creating a covert communication channel even after the humans are physically divided from their equipment. Their private exchange turns the prison into a small network of coordinated resistance rather than a collection of isolated captives.
